Nicks Family Genealogy Forum

Thanks for your help. By the way, I find it interesting that my brother's name is also Jim. What I find interesting, too, in looking at generation after generation, particularly the families of the brothers John Nicks II (1755-1825) and Geroge Nicks (1756-1838) and even before then (I dont' know if John Nicks I - 1716 to 1781 - son of George Blake Nicks had any brothers), the same first names carry on repetitively. Example: John, William, James, Sarah, George, Richard, Jesse, Linda, Lynn, to name a few. It also seems to have been a common trait to name sons after fathers. In some respects, it might be concluded to some degree that the commonality by which one branch of the family versus another repeats variations of first and middle names gives clues as to the particular branch of the family a particular individual may come from.
Again, thanks.
