I have a 114 typed document that looks to be composed in 1967 of the Family Tree of William Nicks (b. July 8, 1789).
It has the following info in regards to Nevel:
Nevel Pucket Nicks (Tinker), b. 10-12-1850 Tennessee, d. 7-4-1918
married 1-12-1871 to Martha R. (Donnia) Boler b. 3-24-1853, d. Feb 5 or 7, 1909.
Member of Masonic Lodge of Franklin, Ark.
Both buried at Violet Hill, Ark.
Shown on 1880 census records of Lacross Twp., Ark.
Children:
1. William Arch Nicks b. July 18, 1873 Ark., d. Sept 4, 1940
married Sept 1919 to Molly Burns b. July 2, 1875, d. May 30, 1950.
2. Emmett Houston Nicks b. Jan 23, 1876 Franklin, Ark., d. 1949?? Married Margaret DrueZilla Williams b. Feb 9, 1876 Lebabnon, MO. d. Jan 23, 1965 Washington State.
3. Edmond (Edd) Theadore Nicks b. July 10, 1878, d. Mar 19, 1941. Married Due Rogers b. Dec 9, 1881.
4. Mary Jeffie Nicks b. Jan 12 or 23, 1881, d. Oct 16, 1941 or 42. Married Joe Shelby Cambell b. May 6 1878, d. April 17, 1921.
5. Steven Nevel Nicks b. July 22, 1884, d. May 27, 1960. Married Rose Richardson.
6. Lou Allen Nicks b. Aug 18, 1887, d. July 9, 1901.
7. Elizabeth Elyet Nicks b. Apr 26, 1890. Married May 22, 1909 Vance M. Gaston b. July 31, 1890, d. Sept 5, 1947.
8. Albert Nicks b. Oct 10, 1893, d. July 8, 1959. Married July 26, 1914 to Ellen Cooper b. June 17, 1894.
9. Son that died at birth, name unknown.
There is a lot of other information in regards to children of the children. Hope this helps. I have just found this document and cannot verify the information but it is very thorough. Good Luck!
