I'd love to see the census information you've got for Laura Bond. My information also lists Sobieskie and Sarah as parents.

As to the number of children, I can definitely confirm that there were six -- you're missing Benjamin Jordan Nickels, who was born Oct 1880, and missed the 1880 census. Since the 1890 census is lost, you don't see him until he is 20 (in the 1900 census).

And I'm sure he DID exist -- I'm his grandson

Benjamin Jordan Nickels (10 Oct 1880 -- 1 April 1952) married Bessie Moore Pratt (9 Nov 1885 -- 16 Jan 1973), daughter of Luther Melancthon Pratt and Anna Hackett
had 5 daughters and 1 son
