Hi Curtis, Thanks for getting in touch, that's great. I recently worked out that my surname should not have been Pyke but Pritchard, a Welsh name as in ap.Richard. My grandfather got his mother's surname. I subsequently made a connection with the Pritchards. We have a 66/67 match. You are right we are probably looking back to the 15th century. I have not found an immediate Pritchard who has emigrated. I know that we can pretty much forget tracing by name but the name Pritchard crops up in the Nickerson tree. Jane Pritchard Nickerson is one and there's another somewhere. Yes, I think the common link is William before he sailed or even with the family that he left behind. It's a way back but I think it's less than 20 gen's. My DNA is at FTDNA and my trees are at ancestry.co.uk. My address is mick@mestre.co.uk I'd like to connect outside this system. Thanks again Mick Notify Administrator about this message?
