I am one of a group working on an official history of the Wisconsin 23rd Regiment . One of our men is Nelson H. Nickerson He enlisted 14 Aug 1862 at Columbus, Columbia Co. WI & d. 21 Jan 1863 on the steamer Ohio Belle - disease. This is all the information we have. If you can help us fill in any of our blanks we would be grateful. The format we are using is as follows: (We have his service record) Date/place of birth: Son of (Names of both parents, their dates/place of birth & death & burial: marriage date and place(s) of residence. Siblings:(Include spouses but not birth/death dates or their children) Pre-war experience Date/place of enlistment Regiment/Co: Rank War record: Mustered out: Date/place of marriage (duplicate for multiple marriages) To Daughter of: (Names of both parents, their dates/place of birth & death & burial: marriage date and place(s) of residence. Siblings:(Include spouses but not birth/death dates or their children) Residence and occupation: Post-war achievements: Include membership in organizations, offices held, church affiliation, etc. Pension record: Date/place of death Burial We are also including letters and photo, If you have any you would be willing to share that would be wonderful. Following are their records from Civil War Research Data Nelson Nickerson Residence was not listed; 18 years old. Enlisted on 5/28/1862 as a Private. On 6/10/1862 he mustered into "G" Co. OH 84th Infantry He was Mustered Out on 9/20/1862 at Camp Delaware, OH Nelson Nickerson Residence was not listed; Enlisted on 1/20/1862 as a Corporal. On 1/20/1862 he mustered into "I" Co. WI 1st Cavalry He was Mustered Out on 3/8/1865 He was listed as: * Wounded Jonesboro, AR (date not stated) * POW 8/2/1862 Jonesboro, AR Notify Administrator about this message?
