I am one of a group working on an official history of the Wisconsin 23rd Regiment . One of our men is Nelson H. Nickerson He enlisted 14 Aug 1862 at Columbus, Columbia Co. WI & d. 21 Jan 1863 on the steamer Ohio Belle - disease.
This is all the information we have. If you can help us fill in any of our blanks we would be grateful.
The format we are using is as follows: (We have his service record)

place(s) of residence.
