Hi Nancy-
Joseph's father, Capt. David Nickerson (Thomas, Thomas, Thomas,Thomas, William, William the immigrant) was b. Chatham, MA 18 July 1771, d. 26 Feb 1819 of African fever on the passage home from a voyage to Africa; as a Capt. was in France during the "Reign of Terror" which began in 1789.
David md. (1) Priscilla Snow, b. Harwich (now Brewster) Ma, 21 Mar 1777, dau of Joseph and Priscilla (Berry) Snow. Priscilla (wife of David), d. Brewster, 5 Jan 1815 and was a desc. of Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower: Joseph, Joseph, Edward, Jabez Snow, Constance, Stephen. Her Snow ancestry is Joseph, Joseph, Edward, Jabez, Nicholas.
Children of Priscilla and David Nickerson:
1) David, b. 11 Aug 1799
2) JOSEPH, b. 3 Mar 1804; md. (1) 22 June 1827, Emeline Winslow; md. (2)19 Jul 1837, Louisa Winslow. Joseph d. 28 Feb 1880.
3) Jonathan S. b. 18 Mar 1807
4) Frederick, b. 15 Dec 1808
5) Thomas, b. 19 Sep 1810
6) Priscilla S., b. 10 May 1814.
