Husband's family were in Morgan, Co., KY and their marriage is on record there. Robert Nickells married Alesy Lawson on June 6, 1831. They had one son named Shelvy (Shelby) Nickells born 1832. She later married Williams Harris in Floyd, Co., KY on April 12, 1836 and had more children.
Shelvy married Margaret Ann (Peggy Ann) Welch on Dec.26, 1850 in Morgan, Co., KY, daughter of James and Isabelle Welch. One of their sons John Nickells born may 12, 1857, married Julia Palmer. One of their sons Charlie Roscoe Nickels born Jan. 21, 1896 married Lizzie Bell Brown daughter of Henry and Mary S. Brown. One of their sons Talmage Nickels born May 5, 1923 married Anna Elizabeth Aldridge on Aug. 7, 1945.
