I do certify that John Nichols enlisted in the Virginia Line the 24th day of November 1777 and that he continued in service to the end of the war.

I do hereby certify that John Nichols a soldier in Captain ___ detachment of the Virginia line
has served the full term of three years for which he was inlisted and is now hereby discharged from the service
and that he has received his pay in continental currency up to the 7th day of December one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine, _____ ______ has only received two dollars in _____ from the commission
of Divisions at Charles Town.
Given under my oath at Williamsburg this 25th day July 1781.
