Benjamin Jones, my ancestor who died in Bute Co. in 1777, lived in the Hawtree Creek area near the Virginia Border and on the Old Indian Trading Path. This was some distrance from Fishing Creek which was to the South of there.

Some of the names associated with Benjamin Jones were:
John and William Gilreath
William and David Young
Lawrence and William Noles
Charles Darnall
William Paschall
Samuel Croxton

If any of these names appear to be associated with your Nicholsons of Surry Co., VA, I would appreciate any information you have.
