My guess is that there were several siblings. David may have been the given name of the brother that died in the Revolution (information from a cousin’s work in the 1940s). My guess is that a sister married a Mott as buried next to Jonathan is Gresham Mott 1791-9 Oct 1813 in the Old Hill Graveyard, Chester, Morris, NJ. Gresham is probably a nephew. Later a granddaughter married a Mott.

This family may also be connected through Jonathan's 7 years in the War for Independence.

GERSHOM MOTT b 1744 Middletown, Monmouth Co, New Jersey, d 27 May 1786 , Albany, New York, Revolutionary War-Capt 1st regiment, New York Line; later in Colonel Lamb's artillery and commanded at Fort Constitution and New Windsor. m Elizabeth Williams b 1753, d 1805, child Mary 1782-1830.
Name: Gershom Mott Birth: 1744 - Middletown, Orange, New York, USA Death: Sep 1786 - Albany, Albany, New York, USA Marriage: New Jersey, USA Parents: James Mott, Mary Holmes Spouse: Elizabeth Williams. Liz
