I am seeking anyone who is a descendent of Peter Marks Nicholas and wife Tabitha Splawn. I am not a Nicholas descendent but a Splawn descendent. I am trying to place Tabitha with the correct family in the Daviess Co., Mo. Splawns. I am descended through Isaac Splawn and wife Elizabeth Wood Splawn of Daviess Co., Mo. and Bedford and Jefferson Cos., Tennessee. Isaac had several brothers and many cousins living in Daviess Co. in the early days.
I have fairly extensive information on Peter and Tabitha with documentation but have been unable to find a connection to whom Tabitha's parents were. If anyone descended through this Nicholas family could help me, I would appreciate it.

Peter Marks re-married a woman by the name of Nancy after Tabitha's death and the family migrated from Missouri west to Oregon.
According to census records, Peter Marks is living in Clay Co., Mo. in 1840 as a single man with no wife or children. Marrying Tabitha in 1844, we find them in the 1850 Census of Daviess Co., Mo.--District 27 with their children. In 1860 Census Peter is a widower working in a hotel as a clerk in Bethany, Harrison Co., Mo. and living there. (I live about 30 min. away from Bethany, Mo.) His son Horace Brown Nicholas is living, age 10, in Harrison Co., Butler Twsp., with another family, William and Martha Blackwood. By 1870 Census Peter has gathered his children together, and they are living in Washington Co., Oregon with Peter and their step-mother and we find Peter also in Washington Co., in 1880 Census. By 1880 Census Horace is living in Multnomah Co., Oregon--Portland and Meriwether is living in Washington Co., Oregon--East Butte but later census records show Meriwether also living in Multnomah Co., Oregon. in Portland.
I would appreciate any further help on this family to connect Tabitha Splawn Nicholas with the correct Splawn family of Daviess Co., Mo. Thanks. Brenda
