Emma Cracks Pete on the Jaw, Cost $50
Dominick Emma, well known fistic artist from Geneva (Ill.), plied his art Tuesday morning on P.S. Nichol, local lumber dealer. He cracked P.S. on the chin at the climax of their argument over a lumber bill. Emma is well known to fight fans of the valley and while he is rated as an amateur it is generally understood that he is well repaid for his ring battles, but his one blow encounter Tuesday cost him $50.00 and costs in Justice Ricebarger's court.
He was represented by Attorney Harry Hanson of Geneva, who immediately filed a bond for an appeal to a higher court.
It seems the argument started over a refund on the cost of the lumber Emma bought of Nichol for a new home he built in Geneva. Emma claiming that an employe of the lumber company had made such an agreement unknown to P.S.
