Bob:
I'm not sure that you and I haven't corresponded before, but seem to have information connected to you.
Going in reverse, my mother's maiden name was Jane Marshall Nichol, b. 1911, in Independence, Kansas.
Her father was Robert Royce Nichol, b. 1875, in Independence, Missouri.
His father, my gr-grandfather, was Gilbert Marshall Nichol.
Now it gets interesting. On my genealogy charts, Gilbert Marshall Nichol's brother was George Nichol, b. 1830, in Hanover township, Butler county, OH. I only have 10 siblings; William Marshall Nichol, b. 29 June 1828; George Nichol, b. 1830, same place; Mary Nichol, b. 1832, same place; Martha Nichol, b. 1838, born same place; Joseph Nichol, b 1840, same place; Gilbert Marsshall Nichol, born 1845, same place (my gr-grandfather);Robert John Nichol, born 1846, same place; Sara G Nichol, b. 1847, same place; Frances Nichol, born 1849, same place; John H. Nichol, born 1850. The wife of all these children was Jane Marshall, born 02 August 1807,in Darrtown, and my mother was named for her. Have much more Nichol information, if you connect. Let me know.
