A little more information on my Nicely line, according to Ancestry.com, : Andrew Jackson Nicely's parents were Jacob Nicely, Jr. and Mary Magdelina Cirle. Jacob Jr.'s parents were Jacob (Jake)Nicely (b. 1817, Alleghany Co., VA) and Margaret Downy (b. 1821, Alleghany Co., VA).

Also have info from Lynda Bartsch which shows Jacob JR. b. 1776, and Jacob SR. showing up in VA Tax Records by 1788, with 2 white males over 16 yrs in his household. I'm not sure which chronology is correct.

My copy of the 1830 VA Census Index shows both a Jacob JR and SR living in Alleghany Co., VA. (I've also run upon notes I made on Mary Magdelina Circle; don't know the source, but will gladly share!)

Anyway, would love to hear from anyone about Jacob SR., and back!
