Hi Rosa, thanks for responding. It's funny that you mentioned that your grandfather was Aviles. My grandfather, who was from Rivas, was Rodolfo Paez Aviles. His parents died when he was young and he and his brothers/sister were raised by several aunts in Potosi (just outside Rivas). I don't know much else beyond that. My grandfather had several brothers: Jose Emilio, Joaquin, Julio and one sister, Celia. I think there was another brother but I dont recall his name. I actually just got back from Nicaragua and visited relatives in Rivas, many of them Paez. If I speak to my aunt in Rivas (she is not a Paez but was married to one), I will ask about your grandparents. Hope this helps. Thanks, Stephen Paez
