Michael;
Good to hear from you.The Nibletts in my line are have been very difficult to trace and seemed to have died out by the mid 1950s.Abel Niblett was born in SC about 1779.His father was Tillman Niblett (not proven) I believe.He had at least two brothers; Edmund Niblett & Fleming Niblett.Edmund settled with his brother in Russell Co., AL after leaving GA (Meriwether ., GA). He and his family were in Jones Co., Ga for the 1820 Census - then Meriwether Co., GA for 1830 & 1840 Census; then Russell Co., AL for 1850 Census.Tillman Niblett is thought to have died in Newton Co., GA sometime between 1827 - 1830.Abel & wife, Frances (Robeson) Niblett had several children; one being a daughter named Rachel.She married Henry Louis Williams, Sr Aug 24, 1853 in Troup Co., Ga.Her first child born in 1856 was named Abel Elijah Williams.I've not seen the name Abel repeated since in the family.Your thoughts are interesting and ones I'll hold in my files for further research....thanks for sharing....Jon
