Madaline Elizabeth Lockwood, 1917-2012.

Based on the records available to me (May 2014), I believe that Madaline Elizabeth Lockwood b. about 1918 in NH (possibly Claremont) was the daughter of Oren Lockwood and Jessie Blanche Dodge.
However, I have not found a birth record for her, yet.

She is listed in the 1930 US Census for Claremont, Sullivan, NH (family 341)
as: Madoline Wagner, age 12, step-daughter.
Family of Oren Lockwood, age 47, b. NY and Alice Lockwood, age 50, b. NH, his wife

Alice, born Alice Grace Ellis, was married three times; her previous husband was Edward D. Wagner, who died January 24, 1918 in Claremont. Alice and Oren Lockwood (her third husband) where married May 03, 1924 in Claremont. However, Oren Lockwood was previously married to Jessie Blanche Dodge (on March 17, 1917) and in the 1920 Census they have a daughter: Madeline E. Lockwood, age 2, b. NH. (She would be about 12 years old in 1930 Census).
Jessie Blanche (Dodge) Lockwood died December 25, 1922 in Claremont.

I believe that Oren Lockwood was Madaline’s father, not Edward Wagner.
And that Jessie Blanche Dodge was her mother, not Alice Grace Ellis.

To add additional confusion to Madaline’s parents, in her 1940 marriage record she explicitly lists Oren Lockwood and Alice Grace Ellis as her parents. Since, Jessie Blanche Dodge died when Madaline was four (or so) years old Alice Grace Ellis was probably the only mother that she remembers.
Or she was adopted.

I hope this clarifies some points; but addition information would be desirable.
