Can anyone help to identify the parentage of "Polly" Barton (or Barter) who married Simon Lowell @ Washington, Sullivan Co. 7/10/1778? She died @ Washington, N.H. in 1829. Vital records as recorded in the History of Washington name her as Polly Barter. The Historic Genealogy of the Lowell Family of America names her as Polly Barton of Portsmouth. Polly was the nickname in vogue for the given name "Mary"...but I come up empty-handed there, too. To confuse the issue more, I have identified both a Henry Barter and a Henry Barton living in the vicinity @ the same time period. Any help is most appreciated.
