Hello, I was searching through a folder which contains information regarding my family history and inside of that folder there is a letter..a copy of a letter written by Horatio Babb to his family, it's a copy of the letter he wrote October 27th 1863 during the time he was serving in the Civil War..he was at Little Rock Ark at the time he wrote it and also someone had typed out the letter apparently so it was easier to read...the letter begins with "Dear Father, Brothers and Friends," and it's quite a detailed letter and of course very interesting to read. There is also a copy of a picture of a soldier which I have to assume is he. Anyway, I am trying to figure out what the connection is...my family names are Stirling, Kiester, McCall, DeVaney...and I don't know if the letter was in there because there is some relationship back in history which I haven't found...I haven't really done or tried to do a search until this time. I would assume it was that there was a connection someone in my family had as a friend of his, and maybe that is true, but I can't figure out why it would have been placed in with all the family history papers. If anyone can shed any light on this I would love to know! I found information online about Mr Babbs stating that he was from Barrington NH, so I'm trying here. thanks, julie
