I am looking for info on any and all bits of of info I have gathered. William Whitehouse 1749 was a loyalist serving with the 17'th Dragoons during the American Revolution. He was given a land grant in Shelbourne Nova Scotia in 1783. Married to Hannah. Found on the List of Poor People in 1787. Had a son Thomas baptized in 1792 in Shelbourne. Did they also have another son William born 1778 in Brooklyn n.y. in exile from Kittery during the war? Is William 1749 the son of Edward(twin)Whitehouse born 1711 in Dover N.H.? If so he would have been born in Kittery M.E. because Edward moved there before 1741.Edward served as a scout with John Frost in Cpt. Jonathan Bean's Co.1747/48. He also served as a soldier in the reduction of Canada in 1760/61 with his son John Whitehouse born 1741. They both contracted small pox and died soon after returning home to Kittery Maine. Edward left orphans as noted in a petition by Benjamin Harmon of Phillipstown to England to recoup expences incurred for the care of Edward's family. Thank-You in advance for any help.
