My theory is that she was born in CT.

Her family were Tories, so during the Revolution in 1776, her family migrated west toward the New York area. (,

English settlers of CT migrated to the Vermont and New Hampshire area. (,

Then, she married Shem Kentfield in 1777 or 1778 in New Hampshire. Shem Kentfield was, also, a Tory. His trial was supposed to be in New York, but he was hanged in New Hampshire in 1782.
