I don't have an answer for you in regards to John's wife Sarah. I looked at the history of Hampton,NH and some the information you have is wrong on Edward's wife's maiden name: Edward Gove was of Hampton on Nov 28 1665 when he sold land in Salisbury. His wife's name was Hannah Titcomb. They had been married several years before moving to Hampton. Edward (son of John) was b. in Charlestown in 1639. Edward Gove d. 29 May 1691 (His son, John Gove is who you are researching on the maiden name of his wife). ************* Google books says this Edward Gove, while living in Hampton,NH, headed a movement to overthrow the then, Governor Cranfield of New Hampshire. The consipracy failed and he and 10 others, including his son John, were arrested & tried for treason. Edward was sentenced to death and his estate was seized for the crown. The others were pardoned after the conviction, but he was sent to London and kept for 3 years locked in the Tower in London. At length, he was also pardoned and his estate was restored to him. He is the ancestor of all the Gove families of New Hampshire and Maine. *********** note: This part of Hampton was the "ancient Hampton" which is now called Seabrook,NH.
