It is always interesting to find out about a piece of land. Have you checked in the land records at the NHHS? and the State of New Hampshire. Also, did you research back on land deeds before your ggggr father's ownership. In other words, research no matter what the owner's name would be the same piece of land (land description). This would give you the location of the land?

Maybe, I am not clear -- you may e-mail me for discussion. On many research problems, I have gone in the back door or another door to find my answers! Some land transactions were not really deeds - perhaps, a quit claim or a lease -- for example.
