Seeking death place [Wells, ME or Exeter, NH about 1676] of John RICHARDSON, Sr., immigranting about 1635 on ship "Assurance", who married Hannah TRUAIR [TRYER] before 1642. John was born in 1615 in Stephey, Rotcliff, Middlesex, England and was of the Medfield, MA, Richardsons. In 1636 he was in Watertown, MA, but in 1644 he had left Watertown; in Exter, NH in 1642 and in 1672 he witnessed a title deed in Wells, ME. His cousin, Thomas Goges, and deputy of Sir Ferdinando GORGES, formed a church on part of the 400-500 acres of land at Webhannet [today Wells, Maine]. John's marriage to Elizabeth FRYER of Gloucester, MA, was annulled in 1645 as he already had a wife and was a bigamist.
John Sr. and Hannah RICHARDSON had a son, John J. RICHARDSON, born in 1649-1650 in Wells, York Co., ME, married 1 March 1679 Rebecca CLARK and died 29 May 1697 in MA.
