I'm researching Andrew Reed, Antrim Ireland, 1700s, settled in Boothbay, ME. In reading the history of Boothbay, I'm amazed at the number of families emigrating from Antrim, Ireland. Some of those settling in ME had ties to Londonderry with some intermarriages. Is there a connection between the early settlers of Londonderry and Boothbay, ME. that I'm missing?
In some ways, I'm not sure that Boothbay was the first stop for my ancestor. Records show he settled in Boothbay in 1743, but I have little showing that's when he traveled from Ireland to America.
Does anyone know the origins of the early settlers in Rockingham County?
