HUNTING Family-NH, ME, OH, KS
Here are some other tidbits of information regarding Frank HUNTING. Having looked at various census records one can trace him, siblings and parents to the following places:
1920-KANSAS, Stafford co., Richland Twp.
Frank and wife Effie listed simply as F.E and E.W HUNTING
living alone.
1880-KANSAS, Russell co., Paradise Twp
Frank,age 26 here with siblings George age 30(his wife,children),and Charles, age29.
1870 KANSAS, Johnson co, Gardener (PO: Ochelltree)
Frank here with siblings George-age 20(his wife)and Charles-age19. A possible uncle (Enoch HUNTING-age37) is also in this community.
1860-OHIO, Lake county, Madison
One finds Enoch HUNTING-age70, clergyman and wife Johannah living alone. These are the parents of Enoch mentioned above and they also may be parents of Josiah, listed below.
1850-OHIO, Lake county, Madison
Frank not born yet, but brother George-age 11mos. here with sister Sarah-age2 and parents Josiah(age26) & Sarah HUNTING. Josiah and Sarah born in Maine, George and daughter, Sarah born in Ohio.
1850-MAINE,Piscataquis co., Guilford
One finds Enoch-age 60 and wife Johanna with children Enoch-age 17, Seldon age 6. Enoch and Johanna both born in New Hampshire. Children born in Maine. As I mentioned above, this couple may very well be parents of Josiah, following him to Ohio. Then one sees the further migrations of the younger Enoch and Josiah's children (after their parents had died???) move on to same locale in Kansas. Too many coincidences to not be somehow connected.
Although I am not related I find this family intriguing because my wife is also HUNTING. Additionally, her HUNTING grandparents met in Lake County, OHIO, but later than the above persons. Hope this is helpful. If you wish more particulars about Frank's ancestry please email me.
