Hi there L. E.,
Thanks so much for responding. There must have been something up in Haverhill in 1795 because that's where a Moody relative was sent to prison. At the time I believe he was living in Enfield, NH.
Yes, I did know about William H. Moody in Haverhill, MA.
I had a fellow researcher several years ago help me in finding out info about him.He got the info straight from the United States Capitol about Wm. H. Moody.
He was quite prominent in his day, started out as a lawyer, then was District Attorney, then a State Senator and then a U.S. Supreme Court Justice and then Pres. Teddy Rossevelt nominated as Secretary to the Navy, and yes he was a partner in the Prosecuting team that tried the Lizzie Borden case.Somewhere on these message boards, either at the Borden page or the Moody I wrote about all that a couple of years back I think it was now, when I found out about him.
Really interesting.I am related to Lizzie Borden through her mother's side and was hoping at that time to be related to William H. Moody too as I thought that would be a real twist of fate, but alas, I was not. Those Moody's were way too high falootin' to be part of my family. (grin)
Thanks again, and good luck in your searches, and yes I too am always keeping my eyes peeled for your family too.
