Can't help with parents, but Christine or "Chastina" as I think her name was, was married again by the 1870 census, and 3 Briggs children were with the family.
In the 1870 census of Lunenbery, Essex Cty. VT
John C. Phillips, age 38- b. NH
Chastina-age 38-b. NH
Chas W.- age 14-b. VT
Carrie- age 10- b. NH
Lydia- age 8-b. VT
Sarah- age 5-b. VT
Benjamin F. Briggs - age 22-b. NH
Eliza Briggs- age 14-b. NH
Alden Briggs- age 8-b. NH
John C. Phillips was married to a Sarah in the 1860 census, and young Charles W. was with them.
In 1880 Chastina Phillips, age 48, was a widow again- staying with a Edwin Ostle in Lunenberg.
Lydia Phillips, age 18, was working as a servant in Lunenberg- Sarah had disappeared.
In the 1850 census, Chastina Briggs was 18, so she matched the wife of John C. Phillips in 1870.
Also John C. Phillips is added onto Chastina's application for Roswell's Civil War pension.
