Danforth Walker was born 26 July 1785 in Merrimac, Hillsboro NH- to Zaccheus Walker and Mary/Martha "Patty" Danforth.
Zaccheus was born 12 March 1748 in Billerica, Mass- to Benjamin and Hannah (Frost) Walker.
"Patty" Danforth was born May 1751 in Billerica to David and Johanna Danforth.
Zaccheus and Patty were married 29 Oct 1771 in Chelmsford, Mass.
A Betsey Bigelow was born 8 Nov 1786, New Ipswich, to Silas and Rachel (Pitts) Bigelow. Since one of Danforth and Betsey's son was named Silas Bigelow Walker- I would tend to think this is the right family.
Children of Danforth and Betsy Walker:
Martha Maria- b. 20 Jan 1805
Eliza Ann- b. 8 Jun 1807
William Danforth- b. 23 Dec 1809
Silas Bigelow-b. 7 Jun 1812
George Washington- b. 28 Jul 1814
Addison Augustus-b. 22 Sept 1817
Frances Elizabeth-b. 5 Apr. 1819
John Hermond- b. 24 Sept 1821
Luther Harbour-b. 8 Aug, 1826
Edward Payson-b. 22 Oct 1832
Albert Francis- b. 25 May 1844.
Hmm.. this last child is worrisome- Betsey would have been 58 at the time- although in the 1850 census she says she was 61 and Danforth 64. If born- he doesn't appear to have survived- as in 1850 Edward- age 17 was the only one at home.
Sons William and Silas were both in New Ipswich, Hillsboro Cty in 1850- married with children.
The 1850 census also shows a Luther Walker- 28- painter, with a Judith W. age 25, a John W. age 30 (Luther's brother?) and a Lydia W.age 36. They appear to be living in a boarding house in Manchester, NH.
Danforth Walker had at least 3 brothers-Isaac b. 1772-Samson b. 1789 and David b. 1791. No girls seem to be included in these particular records.
Looks like the earlier Walkers/Danforths came fromMiddlesex County, Mass.
