Josiah Prescott Mooers b. 1804 in Deerfield, NH
I am searching for information on the family of Josiah Prescott Mooers.
Josiah was born Dec 12, 1804 in Deerfield, NH, died Mar 4, 1886 in Cokato, Wright Co., MN. He was married to Rachel Peterson Mooers. Josiah was one of the first settlers in the Cokato area.
They had the following children:
Timothy, Josiah Nathaniel, Augustus Peterson, Henry, and Clara.
According to information received from the Cokato Museum (from a book about the history of the Mississippi Valley), Clara was an adopted daughter. The 1860 census from Middleville, MN shows Clara living with the Mooers, she was 12 years old at the time, and going by the name of Hoyt and not Mooers. Clara married Amos Chambers at a very young age and had nine children.
