Ok, after much searching I have found a marriage record for George's mother Carrie T. Witham to John A. Martis in boston, MA in 1870.
Have also asertained that George's birth year is MOST likely abt 1876-after many phone calls to various towns that he was listed as bein born in etc.

After much nagging of my family, especially those who heard all the stories about his 2nd hand, it has been CLARIFIED to me by them the following:

A. George told his Children that his Original Last name was MARTIS.(THEY pronounced it "Mah-Tis" (Boston Accents))

B. Have found out that his older siblings Addie A. Wilson and Brooks B. Wilson from the 1880 census in Waterville were in fact BORN:
TO John A. Martis & Carrie as:
Adela Adeline Martis & Darius Burnham Martis.
NOTE: John A. Martis had a brother and Uncle named Brooks B. Martis

C. That he was Adopted into the Wilson Family (Would make sense if George A. Wilson was his step father and thus adopted him as a son.

Still can't find a birth record for George or a marriage record for his Mother Carrie to George A Wilson. Would like to know what happened to John A. Martis as after 1872 (birth of Darius/Brooks) I cannot find anymore info.
The search continues.
