Might anyone be able to help me locate where the place "Preston" (as called out below) was located in Grafton Co., NH? New-Hampshire Gazette, and General Advertiser, May 5, 1790, page 4 (Early American Newspapers, Series I, 1690-1876) PRESTON, State of New-Hampshire, Stratford. Notice is hereby given to the proprietors of the township of Preston in the county of Grafton in said state, that at a legal meeting of the proprietors of said township held at said said Stratford.--A tax of four pounds ten shillings L. M. was granted on each proprietots right in said township, on the 23rd day of October 1788, and committed to me the subscriber to collect said tax was granted for the purpose of paying the charges of alloting said township, and making a road through the same, and paying former bills of expences, and unless said tax is paid to me subscriber at said Stratford, by the 1st of June next, the land will be dealt with as the law directs.
