"Benjamin A. Griffin in 1829, did 6 days of work on Shelburne Addition Roads" --D.B. Wight in the Androscoggin River Valley (1967), a book recommended by Franz Martin.

Moved from Wolfborough, NH to Shelburne, NH to Shelburne Addition (which became Gorham), NH before 1828; in 1828 Benj. Griffin, according to Wight's book, worked 4 days on Shelburne Addition Roads and 4 days on building the bridge over the Peabody River (he was paid 67 cents a day). In 1836 Benjamin Griffin was a Gorham tax-payer. In the 1840 Census of Gorham there were four males and one female in Benjamin's household. In 1850 Census, Whitefield, NH; Benjamin Griffin, laborer, born NH, was living with Mary Griffin Gordon and James Gordon (evidently widowed).
