Marshal Ney married the daughter of my 6th great grandfather's sister. His name was Edmond Genet, first Ambassador to the U.S. from the new Republic of France in 1793. He married Cornelia Tappan Clinton, daughter of George Clinton, first governor of the state of New York and fourth Vice-President of the U.S. under Jefferson and Madison. My 6th great grandfather's sister, Adelaide, was a chambermaid to Marie Antoinette along with her sisters, one, Madame Campan, was the first chambermaid to Marie.
