Hi David, appears Mary Teresa has disappeared. Only possible match is 3 sisters arriving on Vessel "Mermaid" 19/10/1859 , Mary, Jane and Elizabeth all listed as "Miss". From Liverpool to Auckland. A lot of the immigrants were from the Isle of Man, so looked for the births there but could only find a Jane and Mary to the same family.
There appears to be no children born to Walter & Mary - is this correct ?
However there are births of 2 males with Walter as second name between 1907 and 1925 ???
Nothing on NZ "Papers Past" , only notes were from The Otago Witness 30/5/1895 , posted by Walters sister Mary Ann seeking information on her brothers George who went to Ballarat Australia and Walter who went to NZ , 40 years since.
And from the Wellington Independent 3/2/1872 , arrival of Mr & Mrs Firmin on the "Calaeno" from London.
On Family Search , NZ immigration 1923 , vessel not mentioned , Sydney to Wellington, W A Firmin , aged 78 , a "Tourist / Traveller".
From Trove - NLA Aussie Newpapers - Argus Melbourne,Walter Adams Firmin , brother of the Late George Firmin , Scrubby Forest,Gippsland, Much loved uncle of Alfred , William, Walter Adams, James, Mrs Morrel, Mrs G Bond, Annie, Lizzie & Jessie.
Walter's birth is registered December Qtr 1844 , Lexden, Essex , England , and is also shown as Walter Adams Firmin , not "Adam"
I tried a few different spellings of Firmin on NZ BDM , but still could not locate her.
If they divorced , there is no evidence that Mary Remarried.

Cheers
