William Dent's death is recorded in the Lincoln registration Sept qt Vol 7s page 299. National Burial index gives a burial in Nettleton of William Dent age 62, 30 Sept 1852. I got this info from a poster here in the England section post number 154929 if you want to read it.
Burials were done pretty quickly back then so at most the death date I have for William is a day or two off.
I haven't written for any kinds of certificates from the UK yet. I think there are only like 6 or 7 that might be useful to me. Everything else is before 1837 when the govt. started keeping records. I need to get to the UK so I can look in parish registers.
The Hill line is one I haven't actively pursued lately. I'm helping a friend work on her family tree so haven't been digging into "my" lines (Hills, Dents et. are my ex husbands family, but still ancestors of my kids).
I found all of William and Jane's kids with the exceptions of David2 and Charles in online UK records. http://www.freecen.org.uk/ (FreeReg will get you to the parish records section)
That will also give you Census records. It's limited as to what it has for each county, but it's better than nothing and is taken directly from the parish records.
It's possible I mistyped Charles death year. The obit I found for Charles mentions he was out of the house by 14 years which would have put him out of the 1841 census with William and Jane Dent. I found a Charles Dent living Glamford Brigg, Cadney cum Howsham, Lincolnshire age 14, Ag Laborer. I believe that is our Charles Dent. His brother David, also missing from William and Jane's 1841 census, is age 17 Ag Laborer in Kirkby cum Osgodby, Lincolnshire.
I'm guessing Grace is a daughter of Charles and Eliza who wasn't recorded in the parish records. Much like I can't find Charles himself or his brother David in the parish records online.
My interest in Charles Dent is fitting him and David2 into the family. My kids are descended from Charlotte Dent their sister. She came over to Minnesota to live with her brother Richard. I find it interesting that in one family at least three headed out to parts unknown and were willing to cross oceans to get there.
I'm in NC, USA.
