It seems that a David Hill was born every 20 years from 1700 in Winterton, and since the population of Winterton in 1801 was 773 people I would have thought they would be related to you.
Just a few confirmations - you gave Charles death in NZ as 1909 , but the "Star" newspaper from "NZ Papers Past" indicates he died April 27, 1908. Do you have his DC ?
"William Dent died 30 Sept 1852 in Nettleton", I cannot find this death on UK Freebdm , there are the ones I mentioned 1844 to 1847 then the next one is in Dec Qtr 1854. Have you tried to get his DC ?
I cant help you with the children of William Dent & Jane Hill , as they are not on the IGI which is strange ?? Although I an 99% sure his mother is Jane Hill.
The only possible first marriage I can see for William is to Susannah Driffield , November 15, 1811 in Roxby Cum Risby - which is 1 mile from Winterton , they had child William , ch April 9 , 1813 in Winterton and no more ( but then there are no children for Wm & Jane) and no deaths for Susannah or Wm Jnr.
If you Google "the Farthest Promised Land " a story about English Villagers - NZ Immigrants of the 1870's, states that Charles children Joseph (20) and Jane (17) had immigrated a year earlier. The ships records state that Susan (15) Lottie (Charlotte ?) Grace (6)arrived with Charles , so who is Grace , no birth on UK FreeBmd. But the Qtr that Eliza Dent died in Caistor - Sep Qtr 1868 , Caistor had three Dent births Eva Lucretia , Richard and William Dent. So did Eliza die at Childbirth and did the family then call her Grace ??
Someone has posted details on Freeweb about Charles' brother David.
Last of the silly questions - are you in NZ or the US ?
