Healey Family Research

I am currently researching the decendants of Michael Healey and Grace Ellen/Helen Healey (nee Doherty.

Michael arrived from Ireland in 1857 and I think Grace arrived in 1858. They married in Christchurch December 1858 and moved to Ashburton where they had somewhere between 15 and 18 children.

It appears that Michael was originally a Healy but the name changed somewhere along the line.

Grace died in 1904 and is buried in Ashburton, Michael died in 1914 and is buried in Sydenham cemetery, Christchurch.

They had a pretty tumultuous relationship and probably seperated on a few occassions, interestingly there is no mention of Michael in Grace's will.
Their children as I know it were
William John Healey
Michael Francis Healey
Mary Ester Healey (Meskell)
James Healey
Sarah Jane Theresa Healey (Cuddon)
Julia Healey (Newsome)
Catherine Cecilia Healey (Wilson)
Grace Ellen Healey (oliver)
Edward Healey
Patrick Ambrose Healey
Joseph Henry Healey
Francis Gregory healey
Thomas Burnett Healey
Peter Augustine Healey (my Grandfather)
