I should have put unexpected and not expected on my posting as I was always told he was killed WW1 and when I looked for his death it took me ages to discover he was serving with the NZ force.
It turns out he put his residence as Otangiwai NZ and married Catherine Matilda Howell at Llanbradach, Wales on 30th May 1916. Charles was killed 3rd July 1916 so sadly they did not have long together. She then married Peter Samuel. Roberts in 1921.
Thanks again to those who have helpe me.
