John Charles Grace and family came to New Zealand on the ship Northfleet, which sailed from London on 17 Sep 1853 and arrived at Wellington, NZ on 14 Dec 1853.The ship then went on to Lyttelton, NZ (13 Jan 1854) and Auckland, NZ (2 Feb 1854).

There was another Grace family also at the Hermitage.Not sure how related to your family.Grace.— On the 30th March, 1871, at the Hermitage, Wainuiomata, New Zealand, Charles F. Grace, aged 27, son of tho late William Grace, Eaq, Newcastle-on-Tyne.
John Charles Grace served as a Justice of the Peace in Wainuiomata 1859-1863.He died on 15 May 1886 and is buried in the St. James Churchyard in Lower Hutt, NZ. His probate is held by Archives New Zealand.
His wife (21 Oct 1886) died a few months later. Buried in the same cemetery as John. Anna Maria has a probate at Archives New Zealand.
Children:
Anna Maria Grace (1837-1877).Never married. She died 11 May 1877 at the home of her brother in law, Alfred GeorgeBertie-Willoughby. Buried same cemetery as parents.
John Leybourne Grace (1838-1890) is buried in Carterton Cemetery, Clareville (near Wellington).No marriage found.
Nathaniel Grace (1840-3 Dec 1904) is buried in Canterton Cemetery. Married Emily Mahupuku in 1895.Had a son named after his brother John Leyborune, who died at Gallipoli in World War I. His wife Emily married a second time in 1916 to James Laurenson and died in 1940.
Thomas Grace (1841-1916) is buried in Karori Cemetery, Wellington.A couple of possible marriages on Thomas Grace and not sure which one is correct.
Elizabeth Grace (1842-1926) The Wellington Independent, January 17, 1867: JACKSON - GRACE. On Thursday, December 27, by the Rev. J. E. Herring, at St. James Church, Hutt, Charles Welby, second son of John Jackson, Esq of the Hutt, to Elizabeth, second daughter of John Grace, Esq, Hermitage, Wai-nui-o-mata. She and husband buried in Karori Cemetery, Wellington.
William Arthur Grace (1845-1932) was cremated at Karori Cemetery. In 1898 he married Clara Lily Eglinton. She died in 1935 and is buried in Kelvin Grove Cemetery.
Mary Frances Grace (abt 1848-1921 ) married Alfred GeorgeBertie-Willoughby in 1868. She died at Wainuiomata in 1921 and is buried at Karori Cemetery.The Wellington Independent, July 7, 1886: WILLOUGHBY - GRACE On June 6, at St. James Church, Lower Hutt, by the Rev. J. E. Herring, A. G. Bertie Willoughby to Mary Frances, youngest daughter of John Grace, Esq. J. P. of the Hermitage, Wainuiomata. No cards.
