I have traced a William Curtis to Cardiff Road Newport in 1901. Later that year he returned to Somerset to marry Charlotte Rosina Mary Barnes.
His brother Henry Curtis died in Glastonbury, Somerset, England in 1957 and in his obiturary I read - "flowers from Mr. and Mrs. Barnes and nephews and nieces from Newport". I am assuming William took his wife back to Newport and had their family there. A John Curtis was present at my grandfather's funeral in 1957 and could only come from William's family.
I didn't know my grandfather had a brother and would like to trace this part of the family.
Mother Eliza Curtis - children Eliza Ann (married Jesse Frederick Coombs and went to live in Staffordshire) then William George, Henry (who married Winifred Hines - Glastonbury, Somerset) and sister Mabel who never married. They were all born in the 1880's in the Wincanton Workhouse and went to live with their mother and grandmother Ann, in Bruton.
