Hello Susan,

Lovely to get your reply so quickly. It might be better if we take this dicussion off-list so if it is OK with you, can you respond to my own email address: gerry (at) kiltie (dot) net.

Charles & Caroline's marriage was on 14th Jan 1855 and you can see the certificate at "http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/query/results/?Mode=ShowImg&Img=/cityark/Scans/Ecclesiastical_Rochester_Archdeaconry_Area_Parishes/P153_GILLINGHAM_ST_MARY_MAGDALENE_1558_1986/01_Incumbent_Church_Registers_1558_1976/P153_01_29.html/00000501.jpg" (just cut and paste it into your browser without the quotes).

Caroline was baptised at Hoo St Werburgh on 27th Sept 1829 - you can see that on the same web site.

Her father seems to have died at Hoo in 1866 but the relationship with the Seagers will need a bit more research. Perhaps Frances Seager was Caroline's aunt. I'll do some digging around and see what I can come up with.

Bye for now

Gerry
