Joseph Newman Ann Rabb. He was a son of Isaac Newman of Fayette County, PA and Adam County MS. Ann was a daughter of Andrew Rabb. They settled in Madison County, Illinois.
Joseph Newman married Rachel Rabb, a granddaughter of Andrew Rabb, 12 June1806 in Adam County, Ohio. They owned a lot of land in Adam County. They left this land and settled and lived on land in Madison County, Illinois. This Joseph is reported to be from Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee. No proof has been offered for these states.
Joseph and Elizabeth Newman moved from Shenandoah County, Virginia, and settled in Guilford County, North Carolina. They later moved to Knox County, Tennessee. One of their sons, Jonathan, lived in Jefferson County, Tennessee. He moved, in 1805, to Indanana. He, later, moved to Adam County, Indania, and lived on the land that Joseph and Rachel Newman had owned. Jonathan Newman had a brother, Joseph.
