Descendants of Nicholas & Edith (Pyle) Newlon

David & Penny Rabing have posted, "Our Family Tree" on's World Connect project. The site includes Newland, Newlande, Newlin and Newlon. Line starts with Nicholas & Mary (Pyle) Newland (Newlon). A 1780 map of Chester Co., can be found on RootsWeb showing Nicholas Newlin in Newlin Twp. and John as resident of abutting property. I found the the Rabing's site connective since it also includes my Davis Family from Abel & Mary on down. John Davis m. Mary Elizabeth "Isabella" Newland, ca. 1818, probably in present day Taylor Co.,WV. However, no link to the Nicholas line is attributed which does not mean one does not exist.
I also discovered an Abel Davis, cooper, in East Nantmenal Township, Chester Co. who in 1751 had an apprentice, Benjamin Mathews. Abel Davis, my ancestor, could be his son as he too was a cooper.

The Chester Co. Newlin with spelling varitations were Quakers. I am sure that many question could be resolved by cosulting the various Quaker Monthly Meeting Records.
