Hi Patricia, My ancestor John Newlands, married Anne Ure in the Gorbals in Glasgow in June 1837. They left five weeks later on a ship from Greenock for Sydney in Australia, where they had two sons and two daughters. Thus there are now many Newlands in Australia! (And there were others of John's generation, too.) My mother was a Newlands, but my generation has no male Newlands - only women. I have visited Scotland a couple of times, and it is a beautiful country. Good luck when you come to trace your family history. Paul Notify Administrator about this message?
