Don O. Newland, Silent-movie director
Hello, all,
I am seeking any information on Don O. Newland who, in the 1920s, was an itinerent filmmaker. Working for a company called Consolidated Films, he traveled the country making movies called "Wilmington's Hero," "Staunton's Hero," or the "Hero" of whatever town he was in. These movies used local people as the stars. He supposedly got his start at the turn of the century in the very early days of the film industry. However, he is utterly obscure, having completely dropped out of sight. If Don O. Newland is a family member, or you know of him, PLEASE contact me. Thanks!!
