Joseph Newlan's first wife was Sarah Ann Jones, b. Sept. 29, 1822, Miami Co., OH, dau. of Evan W. Jones and his 2nd wife, Lydia Rollins.
Joseph and Sarah Ann were md. July 8, 1838, Fountain Co., IN. That's why you're not finding it in Illinois. Joseph's name is misspelled as Newer in the Indiana Index, so I was never able to find them until I made the connection to Newlan yesterday.
I descend from Evan W. Jones and his first wife.
