Need information on a William Newlan(d) who married a Louisa Perkins around 1860. I found her and their son William (who spelled his name Newlan) in the 1860 Census. I have heard that he was in a war and drowned at sea(I have a picture that I think may be him in his uniform). But after the census, she disappears too and I can't find any other record - other than in William's obituary - which listed him having a sister, Belle, who married a Fraza. He is my g-g-grandfather. He married Emma Hartley. Is Emma possibly a half-sister - did mom Louisa remarry? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Please contact me: Kris Southwood, PO Box 22, Shelburn, In. 47879
