I believe that John, Benjamin, William and Thomas in the 1790 Montgomery Co. MD Census were probably brothers, but I have no proof. I also believe, but have no real proof, that William was the father of my John T. Newhouse. I'm still working on finding proof but with no success, so far. It seems that a lot of VA Newhouses moved to either Ohio or Indiana but mine came to TN. I think I've found 2 of John T.'s brothers, also in TN, but I'm not sure.
Though I haven't really researched the Thomas Newhouse that you mentioned, I do have some information about him sent me many months ago by a another researcher who wasn't from my direct line.
According to what he sent, Thomas was b. c1760 - 1765 in VA or MD. He married Catherine Wood. I have the names of his children, and I also have what is said to be a transcription of his will. I'll be glad to type the will and his children's names into an e-mail if you don't already have it. If you check the Newhouse genforum for my messages you'll find almost everything that I know about John T.'s line. I've been posting messages there for 2 years. Let me know if you'd like the will and children's names. Thanks very much for writing.
