Family lore says that my ancestor, Edward Newgent/Nugent arrived at Roanoke, VA with his brothers George and William, from northern Ireland before the Revolutionary War.
DAR lists Edward Nugent as patriotic service in Revolutionary War, but I'd like information on him, if anyone can help.
His son, Thomas Newgent, was born 1770 Fauquier Co VA, d 1863 Putnam Co IN, was in War of 1812, married Philadelphia Spilman1791 Fauquier Co VA.
Edward Nugin is in the 1792 tax list Fauquier VA, and an Edward Newgent had a land grant 1726 King George Co VA.
